1 Kings

The Gospel of 1 Kings tells of God's faithful provision and guidance for His people, despite their disobedience. King Solomon receives wisdom from God, builds a temple, and establishes a unified kingdom. However, after Solomon's death, the kingdom splits into northern and southern regions with civil unrest and apostasy. Prophet Elijah faces drought and confronts a dangerous cult, while King Ahab's wickedness leads to God's judgment through a drought, famine, and defeat at the Syrian king's hands. God raises up King Jehoshaphat and Queen Jehushta as righteous rulers. Through it all, God remains faithful to covenant with His chosen people and carry them forward toward redemption.
