Habakkuk

The book of Habakkuk is a brief prophetic message urging the people of Judah to trust in God despite predictions of judgment and devastation from foreign invaders. The prophet Habakkuk grapples with the question of God's apparent silence and also deals with the issue of justice in a sinful world. Ultimately, Habakkuk affirms faith in God's character and promises, choosing to wait patiently for God's salvation to come. The book ends with Habakkuk's prayer, referred to as The Prayer of Habakkuk, which speaks of God's faithfulness and power through various trials. The theme of faith in God's sovereignty and trust in His provision, even during hardship, is woven throughout Habakkuk's message.
