Deuteronomy

The book of Deuteronomy is a collection of Moses' final instructions to the Israelites before their entrance into the promised land. Its key themes include: (1) following God's commands and decrees (Deut. 6:1-3), (2) trusting in God's faithfulness and power (Deut. 7:7-8), (3) loving God and neighbor (Deut. 6:5; 10:12-13), (4) avoiding idolatry and false worship (Deut. 5:6-21), (5) obeying God's law in all aspects of life (Deut. 4:1-2), and (6) remembering God's deliverance and protection (Deut. 26:5-11). The gospel message in Deuteronomy is centered around our response to God's generous provision and faithfulness as we follow His commands, trust in His power, and love others as we love ourselves.
